Blitz Recording Studios

Blitz Recording Studios has been operating in San Diego since 1986. We have won many awards and have had 4 number 1 hits on the Smooth Jazz Charts in the last 2 years. We do all styles of music but unlike other recording studios, we ask to hear an example of new clients work before booking any sessions. That way we can be sure it's a good fit.

We are a Protools facility and use the newest Protools Ultimate software and hundreds of plug-ins from Waves, Steven Slate, Fab Filter. This is all run from the new Apogee Thunderbolt Interface along with 16 more excellent inputs on light pipe to the Apogee. So, over 30 simultaneous inputs.

Excellent mic selection including a 1976 Neumann U-87, a Rode Tube Condenser mic, along with the usual drum and instrument mics from Shure, Audio Technica, Sennheiser and more. We have an amazing 6 piece in house drum kit if needed and many instruments and amps. We also have the new Grand Rhapsody Piano from Waves along with an Alesis QS-8 for a controller keyboard. Superior Drummer 2 and 3 and Steven Slate Drums as well.

Richard Blitz won the 2020 San Diego Music Award for Lifetime Achievement. He is expert in many genres. Hip Hop, Rock, Pop, Blues, Jazz, Songwriters and EDM. He has also had extensive experience in voice-overs and books on tape. He is a multi-instrumentalist and an artist-singer and songwriter. He is currently mixing and mastering for Grammy Award winners and has produced, engineered and mixed over 700 albums.
